Recipe of tamatarasam

get a bowl, some oil in it. a tablespoon of popu(thats what its called in telugu. it some common spices of gilakara, miriyalu and somp). now drop some chopped tomato and onions, the ration depends on your taste. i prefer both equal. onion are in different shapes and colors, i like that are dark greenish blue, toxic looking onions. let it be on stove for a while with. turmeric power(is important), salt and karam(i dont know what they call this in english, its chilly kinda) and coriander leafs. then all of that into a mixer, mix it until its a paste but not smooth. i don’t know what kinda of texture you prefer. i prefer tastefully grainy, something to bite and feel something on teeth.

after the mixture, put it back in the bowl with low flame. cocount powder (again texture is important) putnal papu powder (one of the dal, into powder). Water, boil it as much you want. in low flame, the boil should be cheerful not agitated.

Learned from my grandmother ravanama.
