there is a saying in telugu. in littral terms it translates to “try building a house, try arranging a marraige”. Not so littrally, it states as a challenge to build a house, arrange a marraige.

well, the general idea is that. to need something, you need to afford it. things you buy with money, you need money to get things.
a house is a thing. you estimate the cost, arrange it, start to build and 6 months latest you will end up with a house. or, you estimate the cost, understand its out of your budget and give up on the idea. both is normal to me.
i dont know what the economic situations around the world, now and in past. but, form my peice of consiousness. a house is beyond themself to even many. i dont know weather i am one of them or not, i never lived or gotto make that decision. but i know people who are.
I am guessing, a 100 years back. economics of all kind used to be slow. a house or a land, food to eat, family to parede your legecy and tell your story is all what people desired for. the idea still holds to many.
BUilding a house is what you get to do only once in your lifetime, will last for generations. some people cant breath proparly in a rented house. a good “letting all go” exhale into the sky.
there is this fella, in farm i volunteer. he is a friendly guy among few people working there. this mornging at or after 10, in tea break. following another topic he mentioned how he worked there for 45 years, 45 years in same place. that just uncomprehending to me.
He was narrating how over the year he 3-4 peices of land with his income, and currently building a new house. selling land one after the another to fund the house when needed. over the years. foundation this just, pillars next summer, slab when you find a buyer for the land. its one story with compound. complete construction period, it looks most inactive. when a new constructions starts in naibourhood, it will be center of attention, over the amount of time, people just forget it existed. and one day its complete. you invite everyone to housewarming party, everybody appricate its existance. but one person, who build will know every step taken and conflict solved. in his head entire construction time playes every sec.
